                                        JOIN OUR CHAPTER

The Texas Chapter of AOMCI is one of about 38 chapters of AOMCI and is the oldest chapter. We have 137 members and the National AOMCI has about 2900 members. We are separate organizations with different officers, activities and structure. For an application to join the AOMCI, please click on application button above.  Also use the link above that will take you to their web site. The AOMCI web site has excellent information and links to many other very useful sites.  As members of the Texas Chapter of the AOMCI,  we encourage membership in both our local chapter, as well as the National AOMCI, our parent organization. .

Our Chapter covers all of Texas and we also have members from many other states.  Our meets are very informal and you choose what you enjoy, be it boating, working on motors, or just visiting and meeting people. Our members are very diverse in their activities with outboard motors and very good at solving problems you may have. Some members are Mercury fans, while others favor motors made by the Outboard Motor Corporation ( OMC ) that produced Evinrude, Johnson, Gale, and many house brands. Some members collect a certain type of motors such as racing motors and others pre-WWII motors. I think the majority of the motors come from the 1940s, 1950s, and early 1960s. These motors may be old, but parts are still available and are kept running by members. The restoration and preservation of this important part of our American History assures us these  motors will not be lost to our younger generation.

Please click on the Membership Application below for a printable application to join our club or renew your membership. We are one of the largest chapters with 137 members and growing.

L. Picture of Jerry Morris with his grandson, Taylor Morris. The motor is a 40 hp Scott Jerry got at John Slator's  meet. The boat is one Jerry acquired about 30 years ago and  rebuilt a few years back.  Jerry had to throttle down so his son, Alan Morris,  could take this picture from his slower moving 9.9 hp Jon boat.
